Located in Winchester, Hampshire. The New Theatre building was originally located in a nearby army camp from 1914. It was transported to a new site on Park Avenue and opened on 1st August 1927 as a concert and vaudeville theatre. It was a tin-hut type of building.

In 1931 structural alterations were carried out and it was equipped with an A.W.H. sound system. It had a 20ft wide proscenium, a 35ft deep stage and five dressing rooms. Operated by John Gale, it opened as the New Cinema with Jack Oakie in “Let’s Go Native”. It was closed on 20th April 1940 with Arthur Wontner in “The Triumph of Sherlock Holmes”.
