The August 26, 1950 Nashville Banner reported that the Plaza Drive-In, “located near Hickerson Station”, would open August 30. It was owned by W. E. McDonald and J. W. Hamaker, and included in-car speakers “a dancing pavilion in front of the concession stand” and a playground.

Motion Picture Herald wrote in its April 10, 1954 issue that Mid-Tennessee Amusement Company of Tullahoma had purchased the Plaza Drive-In.

The 1955-56 Theatre Catalog included the Plaza Drive-In, capacity 280 cars, owner Earnest Martin, Oldham Theatres.

A 1958 aerial photo showed a small drive-in across Highway 55 from Hickerson Elementary School. Today, it’s a house set back from the road with a pond in front.
