The Pekin Theatre was the oldest movie house in Montgomery until it was unfortunately torn down in 1995.
Built in 1911, the former vaudeville and movie house was erected with a full orchestra pit and backstage. It became a movie theatre for African-Americans.
The Pekin Theatre finally closed in 1985, and was demolished a decade later.
