Abby Lane Theatre

The theatre opened in the 1940’s as the Lane Theatre and later it was renamed the Abby Lane. It operated as a movie theatre for about 20 years. The building itself was typical of the 1940’s with the squared off front on the building. After closing in the 1960’s it became a goodwill store for some years and then later became a matttress retail store.

The Theatre bilding is still there and it is still a Discount Furniture Store.

Chuck….Should the address be West Dundalk Avenue or North Dundalk Avenue?

Exterior photo from 2010. The interior has been completely gutted and all external indicators (e.g. marquee, poster frames, etc.) long removed leaving nothing but the shell of what must has been a rather spectacular streamline cinema.
