The Gem Theatre opened in 1950, as a single screen theater. The theater closed in 2002 for several months to convert it into four screens, while keeping its old-fashioned feel. The Gem Theatre shows first-run movies, and became part of the mini Gabel Theaters chain, which also runs the Acme Theatre in Riverton, and the Grand Theatre in Lander. By 2012 they had been taken over by Barry Theatres.
