This Art Moderne style theater opened during the 1930’s on Highway 63. Its triangular marquee spells out the theater name on two sides over the attraction panels and on the front panel is a huge letter M. It remains in operation today, and is one of just a few historic single-auditorium movie houses in Arkansas.

The Maxie Theater is listed in 1955 with 670 seats.
