Emerald Theatre

The Emerald was another neighborhood house and one of many located along Prospect Avenue. It was about eight blocks east of the Woodland Theatre. The Emerald was opened in 1936 and seated a little over 700. It closed in the late 50’s and has since been demolished. It was located on Prospect between 35th and 36th Street. It opened as the Pic.
