The Temple Theatre opened in 1919 in the newly-built Masonic Temple building on Market Square. The Temple Theatre originally held a large balcony, box seats, and a large squarish proscenium arch over the stage area. In the 1980’s, the Temple Theatre was twinned down the middle.

In 2002, after falling into disrepair, new owners acquired the Temple Theatre and renovated and restored the theater, which can seat 200 in each auditorium.
