The Texas was one of six theatres that was located in downtown Big Spring. The Texas was one of the smaller theatres seating 316.

The theatre did have a small stage and stage house. The building is a single floor located at the corner of Third and North Runnels Street.

The theatre closed in 1954 and looking at the front it shows no signs that it was ever a movie theatre. When you look down the side of the building along Runnels you can see where the exit doors once were but bricked in and the old stage house.
