And it should be listed as “open”.

If you look at the bottom of the 1961 ad you can see that tickets were available for the Johannson vs. Patterson fight, evidently they had closed circuit in he Alhambra. I remember that they did those closed circuit telecasts of the big boxing matches at the Lowe’s State in St. Louis. The Alhambra looks as though it has been well maintained, wish there was a night photo of the theatre. Does anyone know if the theatre wass an independant or part of a circuit?

I don’t know where the “possibly from the 70s” came from. The link to that photo on the Hopkinsville Nostalgia website reads “Alhambra before the Restoration 1981?”. Whats a few decades here or there.

Speaking of that website, here are a few ads that are posted there:

The “possibly from the 70s” photo was taken in November 2003 (by yours truly; thank you so much, hopkinsvillenostalgia.com, for asking permission), before the renovations began.

Good. I can skip the Ambien for once.

I wouldn’t do this for just anyone, but I don’t want you to stay awake all night wondering. The former address was 501.

That’s a prop to you, BK.

Your pickiness was duly noted. I didn’t even get to see what the old address was before it was corrected.

It isn’t open right now, per their website. It’s under renovation. It looks like events are being held at another location until February of next year.

It doesn’t look open to me either but I think it is. This theater is supposed to be a community performing arts center. Check this website. And not to be picky but the address is 507 South Main Street.

Did the Alhambra ever have an organ?
