The Alhambra Theatre opened on May 28, 1928 and the architect was John T. Waller. Since 1983, it has been operated by the Pennyroyal Arts Council as a live performance space, and was renovated in 2004.

I wouldn’t do this for just anyone, but I don’t want you to stay awake all night wondering. The former address was 501.
Good. I can skip the Ambien for once.
The “possibly from the 70s” photo was taken in November 2003 (by yours truly; thank you so much, hopkinsvillenostalgia.com, for asking permission), before the renovations began.
I don’t know where the “possibly from the 70s” came from. The link to that photo on the Hopkinsville Nostalgia website reads “Alhambra before the Restoration 1981?”. Whats a few decades here or there.
Speaking of that website, here are a few ads that are posted there:

This is a June 2008 photo.
If you look at the bottom of the 1961 ad you can see that tickets were available for the Johannson vs. Patterson fight, evidently they had closed circuit in he Alhambra. I remember that they did those closed circuit telecasts of the big boxing matches at the Lowe’s State in St. Louis. The Alhambra looks as though it has been well maintained, wish there was a night photo of the theatre. Does anyone know if the theatre wass an independant or part of a circuit?
