HOLLYWOOD, CA — According to the Arclight website, “The Cinerama Dome will present this epic movie in its original three-strip Cinerama projection process. A newly reconstructed print was made from the original camera negative for this presentation. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience this part of American cinematic history – not seen in Los Angeles since 1963 – playing in the Dome from Sept. 12 – Sept. 25.”Visit the Arclight Cinemas website
Free Screening of David Strohmaier’s “Cinerama Adventure” In The Dome!
HOLLYWOOD, CA — From the filmmaker: “The Cinerama Adventure documentary (35mm, Dolby 5.1) will screen in the Cinerama Dome theatre on Sunset Blvd. Monday September 15th at 11:45 AM. The screening is free, parking may not be ($6.00) at the Arclight parking structure behind the theater. This screening is being held as part of the 3D Festival at the Egyptian and the How The West Was Won 40th aniversary events at the Dome.”This is a terrific documentary and is a must-see for anyone who loves Cinerama, film history, or filmmaking.

McClurg Court Cinemas To Close
CHICAGO, IL — The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that the McClurg Court Cinemas is set to close by September 2, while Cinema Treasures volunteer Bryan Krefft reports it may already be closed:I think the McClurg has already closed…it’s missing from Sony-Loews Cineplex’s daily ad in the Tribune and Sun Times movie listings today. It had been playing second-run and foreign (East Indian) movies for the past few months. What a shame. I’m sad to see this one go, certainly not the nicest looking theater in the city, but a treasure nonetheless…
