I see that Grand Island had a Capitol theatre owned by TRI-STATE Theatre Corp. Located in Paramount Building in Des Monies.Iowa. Can’t find a Strand.Wonder if it had closed by 1956? Wish I could be of more help.
Tlsloews said,in case you guys are like me and didn’t know; is go to your Home page and on the above page click Comments it has everyone’s number of posts, some guys have over 10,000 posts!
I am pretty sure all theatres need to be on guard, even back in the 70’s we had a problem with crabs at a theatre i worked at,At least that is what everyone thought the source was,who knows.Bed Bugs seem to be everywhere now.
I saw Robinhad 185,but could not find Nick’s.You ain’t far behind.I told the guys at AMC ROCKWELL 16 that you made up that number! Guess I was wrong. To stay on Topic, National Hills played the hit comedy"I WILL,I WILL,FOR NOW" Rated R.One of the very R rated features that area would allow.
My 1956 Motion picture Almanac has it located in Sebring.Flordia.Andy, it parked 264 cars and was owned by Carl Floyd which i bet was part of Floyd Theatres located all over Flordia.
You know i read somewhere that another CT member was critizing a Ct member for trying to “SET A RECORD”.Belive me,I had no idea until Tlsloews told me,nor was I trying to make a lot of comments, just like Cinema Treasures for all i know tlsloews could have made the number up,but he says he used his computer to get those numbers.Have a happy holidays guys.
Thanks WHP.I have a 1956 Motion Picture Almanac i found in the MILLER and all the Drive-ins in America and Canada were listed, but no address.Hi-De-Ho is on CT.
Thanks for adding this one.Even though i refuse to watch a movie in that circus of a theatre.REGAL says its an IMAX THEATRE.Locals that know about IMAX say it is not.I could care less about this monster.
I don’t like alot of either one the above actors, but “ANCHORMAN” wasn’t so bad, especially if you grew up in that era of TV news.I also thought it could have been a good drama.

There is nothing wrong with dollar theatres unless the wrong crowd starts to show up and run off business.
THE HILLCREST DRIVE-IN in NORRIS,Illinois. parked 500 cars and in 1956 it was owned by E.Tukey and A.F. Stockberger.
