Next year Regal will open the first ever movie theater in Paramus Park, a 10 screener with an RPX screen. This will give AMC a run for its money if it does well. They might show different movies kinda like years ago when Paramus had many theaters.
Imax is the best experience for big movies. Some movies that were not shot in imax are specifically formatted for imax screens such as Dr. Strange and Beauty and the Beast. This is from the full camera instead of the cropped image used for regular theatrical release. This trend has been around since Skyfall and Tron Legacy popularized it. Ghostbusters, the remake, used it comically, and can be seen in the bluray release of said film.
When Cineplex Odeon took over the older chains such as RKO-Stanley Warner-Century (owned by the Almi Group, a company known for art house movies and tv shows) as well as Brandt Theatres and Plitt, it marked a milestone for the Canadian theatre exhibitor as it expanded to other states two years after the merger of Cineplex (which owned a 14 screen theater in Beverly Hills in the USA) and Canadian Odeon theaters. It became even bigger when it merged with Sony-owned Loews Theatres 11 years later until the combined company filed for chapter 11, unlike AMC, which bought the company five years later from Onex.
they had a clip on youtube showing fan’s reaction to the movie @poland626 this movie is the first that filmed mostly on imax 3d cameras (digital).
amen.
Photo should be changed to a new one with just the AMC logo and the banner all popcorn.
half of the theater now has recliners, with the other half being renovated for next month.
yup.
They should renovate this theater like what they’re doing with Landmark’s new megaplex and add reserved seating and recliners.
Dunno.
I’m surprised this venue is still around.
This theater would’ve been 70 years old this coming Saturday.
What a shame this treasure was torn down for retail space unlike the Ziegfeld which is becoming a ballroom.
Do members get reserved seating?
Does this theater have reserved seating?
That theater is now AMC Universal Cinema 19 with the imax screen.
Sounds similar to the Route 4 tenplex in Paramus. Theater 1 was the big one while theater 10 was small.
This theater also borrowed the parking lot design from others like Loews in Wayne and in Secaucus.
Currently no reserved seating as of yet. Next movie will be the 2017 reboot of Ghost in the Shell.

The regal in sayreville will open next year, ending a 13 year drought for movies near the driscoll bridge.
Dolby Cinema now open with Beauty and the Beast.

Mountainside also borrowed the design too.
8 screens with fewer than 40 seats each..that’s kinda small!!!
Months before the JFK assassination.
This was the last movie theater in Fort Lee until the iPic opened last year.
