Romanesque Revival Movie Theaters
Inspired by the 11th and 12th century architecture of Western Europe, this style enjoyed a revival in the late-1800’s, thanks in large part to the work of architect Henry H. Richardson (1838-1886). The style is sometimes known as Richardsonian Romanesque after the architect, and is characterized by the use of rusticated stone, round masonry arches, transom windows, square tower, and contrasting colors.
