The Arcade Theater was built in 1910 as a vaudeville and motion picture theater. It was operated by Josiah Pearce & Sons Syndicate. From 1959 to 1965 the Arcade Theater was used for live performances. By 1965 the building was in such disrepair that it had to be closed down. In 1985 the theater was in the process of being restored by the Calcasieu Preservation Society when a fire broke out and destroyed the building.
The Arcade Theater was added to the National Register of Historic Places (#78001420) in 1978.
