The Chesley Twin Cinemas was a twin-screen movie theater located near the St. John Throughway, opening on February 1, 1980 with “Scavenger Hunt” in Screen 1 and “The Jerk” in Screen 2, and was operated by Odeon Theatres (Canada) Ltd. It was renamed the Place 400 Cinemas in January 1988.

Empire Theatres last operated the Place 400 Cinemas, and they closed the Place 400 Cinemas on March 2, 1995 with “Heavyweights” and “Billy Madison” in Screen 1 and “The Hunted” in Screen 2 when the Empire chain opened their 7-screen theater on McAllister Drive the following day.

It should be noted it was the first cinema to be built by Canadian Odeon Theatres.
