Northumberland’s Wallaw Cinema Closes

BLYTH, ENGLAND — Unfortunately, due to lack of demand, Northumberland’s historic cinema, the Wallaw, has drawn its curtains for the last time. Despite many attempts to get a lot of public support behind the small, but comfortable theater house, the owners have decided to close.

All those who have visited over the years have been delighted by three screens, its art-deco inspired furnishings, and the friendliness of all the staff will be sorry to see it gone. Thankfully, as it is a Grade Two listed building, it shall not be knocked down, but many will think it sad, seeing it just standing there.

The owners would like to thank all that have visited over the years and apologize for any inconveniences.

Are the newspaper articles and rumours true? that this cinema will re-open again?
