Capitol Theater For Sale

BLOOMSBURG, PA — The Capitol Theater is listed for sale on the website below.

The theater, which I think closed in 1999, had a balcony which was converted to a second theater in the 1970’s. It’s located in the heart of Bloomsburg’s downtown and near the Bloomsburg University Campus. I was in this theater in the 1980’s and it was in decent shape but had been heavily remodeled.

The owner opened a multi-screen outside of town and decided to close this theater.

The owner is Marv Troutman who owns the cinema centers theatres all around central Pa. A very fine family to work for and do business with.

great old theatre period, it has Brenkart bx80 projectors and is in good shape the last time I was there. Marv also owns the cinema supply co. out of Millersburg, Pa.

This theater did have a great marquee, lots of neon. It was one of the brightest spots in downtown when it was fully lit and could be seen from a few blocks away. If the space becomes retail, would hope the marquee can be reused in some way.
