Renovations for twin in Pennsylvania

posted by Jacker on May 18, 2006 at 7:00 am

Looking to buy a theater in Pennsylvania. It is a twin with 150 and 200 seats. I am looking to renovate the lobby, marque and add a ticket booth and expand the concession stand.

Stage 2 the auditoriums need new sound walls, seats and screens. Need contact info for local people interested in the project and also a really rough figure to give the bank!

The place has potential and still operates first run, but needs a lot of work. Basically, the lobby would be the major selling point to bring back the people. The ticket booth is a stand in the center blocking the concession. Would either like to place a booth near the entrance or off to the side (where it was originally?) But rather have someone on the outside to clear up the lobby.

Email for pictures to see to get an idea!

Thanks.

Don’t know where you are in PA right now, but I do know that the old Eric Twin (I believe it was called) in Union Deposit, right outside of Harrisburg has been empty and closed for several years now, but my memories from attending films there as a boy 25-30 years ago seem to jive with the layout you are looking for.

Hi,
I tired to send you and e-mail but it was returned. Would you please contact me at , we would like to know where your theater is located? We might be able to help you out with the seating. We can install new seating or we have a large amount of seats and spare parts that could be refurbished and installed. We are located in the Allentown area of PA and would enjoy speeking to you.
Thanks,
Jill

Hello! I know it has been a few months since you posted this announcement, but this is the first time I’ve seen it, and so I wondered if you were still looking for help restoring your theater.

I am an interior designer based in Portland, Oregon. Earlier this year, I led the restoration of the Academy Theater, a late 1940s Streamline Moderne gem. I also guided the restoration of the exterior facade of the theater and its marquee. A lovely photo of the new marquee is posted on the Academy’s web site at: http://www.academytheaterpdx.com/history.html

Photos of the refurbished theater are posted on my web site at View link as are a few of the many pieces of media coverage we received when the theater first opened: http://www.localcolorstudio.com/media.htm

If you think I might be able to help you with your project, please feel free to email me at I LOVE old theaters, and would love to help bring another one back to life.

Best of luck with your project!
