Theater financing issues

Hello Everyone!

I am hoping someone can help us out. We have purchased the Palace Theater in Colorado City, Texas. We have ran into a HUGE road block. Currently we have completed the projection room, audio, seats and are waiting for the screen. However, we are out of money and are hoping anyone has any information on how we can get some information on grants or any donations will be helpful.

We are still needing concession items, especially the popcorn machine and also need to update the lobby, bathrooms, and outside of theater which includes the marquee and the palace sign. We have also come across to some water leaks. Please help us by letting us know if there are any grants available or where we can start in getting some type of financial assistance.

Thanks,
Bea & Marcus Monroe

Is this a restoration OR a renovation? Are you a part of a nonprofit organization? If so, you may qualify for historic preservation grants through with the National Trust for Historic Preservation View link and/or the National Park Service historic preservation grants http://www.cr.nps.gov/hps/hpg . There may also be grants through your state or local governments.

I’m told that there is a huge place somewhere in Nevada that houses hundreds and hundreds of old theater and restaurant Neon type signs.
Congratulations and good luck with your dream!
I am only in the begining stages of what you have done because I’d love to do this to one of the several vacant theaters in the Hollywood/Los Angeles area. Many still survive, I’ve got the stamina to get it done but, regretfully, without contacts and major funding. Dreams DO come true!!!
