Want to run a Drive-In?

posted by TheaterOwner01 on September 16, 2008 at 7:35 am

Hello everyone, thru CT, I have acquired a couple theaters from my last post. I have a drive-in that I want to give someone here a chance to run and own. It’s in Kentucky. If you ever dreamed of operating your own theater, then contact me. The drive-in is open and makes money. I just have too many theaters and want to let someone run this one.

Thanks

Cloded books? Do you mean “Closed Books”? If so, please provide either the theatre name or EDI Theatre code.

Let me set this matter to rest, once and for all.

I was contacted by ‘Mike’ to be a partner in his VA theater, on which he had a lease, but it needed over 30k worth of rehab and needs to be brought up to code, etc. Then he found another theater, a drive-in in KY. I was contacted by the leasee, who gave me a buyout AND the owners gave me a NEW lease with the option to buy this at a price.

Mike cannot make more then $600 a month or he will lose his disability check, so I have researched and there is no way, short of doing it illegally, and with my contract with the owners of the theater and myself, I cannot and will not do anything illegal, so I ADVERTISED for a partner who had money who wanted to work, be it silent or otherwise, since Mike could not be a partner because he was unwilling to ‘risk’ his 1500 a month.

As for being in Florida, the theaters I have are not in Florida and have nothing to do with anything. Now, this is the final story in this matter, and as of today, I am still looking for a silent or working partner.

Oh my this sounds interesting. How much money would a person need to qualify for this theatre. A gentleman friend might be willing to spend a little if it is not to risky. I went to a few driveins. Are you Mike. I am so sorry that you are on disability. Was it work related. I knew a Mike but he moved to Texas.

BobFurmanek
BobFurmanek on September 17, 2008 at 9:22 am

Was the error because the listing had pictures of other drive-ins? If so, how come it was not re-listed with pictures of the drive-in for sale?

Very interested in any situations like this. If anything else comes up, please let me know. I had backing a few months ago to lease a three screener here in VA, but my backing fell through, so now I’m looking again.
