A search around these parts didn’t yield up a listing on the Earl Carroll or the Nickelodeon on Sunset. Was the Earl a live venue? A pretty colorful exterior either way.

It was a night club, not a movie or legit theatre. It’s now a TV studio (has been for a few decades) used by Nickelodeon. It’s most important show was “Star Search” in the 1980s. iCarly is done there now.

There is also quite a lot of history about the Earl Carroll in another Wikipedia entry here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Earl_Carroll_Theatre
In the ‘60s this theater was famous for presenting the play “Hair”. It was known as the Aquarius Theater then.
