Bow Tie Cnemas in Colorado Embezzled

The manager and accountant of Bowtie cinemas were arrested for stealing deposits and other cash schemes resulting in $62,340.88 (amount varies) in losses to the New York based company. The former manager recently tried to sue the company for wrongful termination.

The duo allegedly embezzled roughly $31,000 through missing and falsified bank deposits, rebate checks from an unauthorized ATM machine in the bank lobby, rebate checks from a Pepsi distributor and a “scam” involving movie coupons, the press release said.

After 14 months of being unaware they were being robbed by their own staff, upper managerment suspected there might be a problem and then fired the manager without hard evidence at the time, who then tried to sue the cinema chain.
