Celebrate popcorn this October at Classic Cinemas!

Did you know Americans eat 16 billion quarts of popcorn each year? That’s almost 51 quarts per person – people can’t get enough! In honor of October being National Popcorn Month and the Official Snack Food of the State of Illinois, Classic Cinemas is offering a FREE 46 oz popcorn to Classic Rewards members at each of their 13 theatre locations.

According to the Illinois State Museum, there are 333 Illinois farms that grow popcorn on 47,000 acres, making Illinois the largest grower of popcorn! In 2003, second and third grade students and their teacher in Joliet proposed popcorn as the official Illinois State Snack Food, and it was later voted as a state symbol!

Any movie-going experience is incomplete without this buttery, crunchy snack. Willis Johnson, president of Classic Cinemas, believes popcorn has a charm associated with the golden days of American cinema. “Since the talkies in the 1920’s, popcorn has been a mainstay of the movie-going experience.” He adds, “We still pop ours fresh at the stand before every showing, and our patrons are always coming back for more!” Moviegoers receive FREE refills on ALL popcorn sizes at any Classic Cinemas location.

And, to top off this national popcorn month, Classic Cinemas also offers Kernel Season’s Popcorn Seasonings with popular flavors such as white cheddar, nacho cheese, parmesan and garlic and ranch. All seasonings are natural, without MSG, and are FREE when you visit Classic Cinemas!

Classic Cinemas now has 57,500 active Classic Rewards members! To subscribe to the Classic Rewards program and receive your free 46 oz popcorn, please visit www.classiccinemas.com.
