Looking for theater for sale

posted by Michael Zoldessy on January 13, 2014 at 7:40 am

Hello,

I am looking anywhere in the U.S. for a one to three screen Art Deco theater to purchase and operate. I have financial backing and will consider renovations, digital upgrades, struggling theaters or retiring owners.

Thank you and happy new year!

Best,
Tyler DePerro

The Strand Theatre in Seymour, Connecticut closed at the end of December. Run properly it could easily turn a profit. A big part of their problem was they were only running three shows per week (Friday and Saturday evening, Sunday afternoon). If they were open all day on Saturday and Sunday and listed showtimes on commonly used services the Strand would make money.

I know at some point last year the Forum Theatre in Metuchen NJ was for sale. Again if run properly it could be a money maker. When I last worked there years ago, it was a great neighborhood movie house. I believe its listed on this site as Forum Theatre Arts Center.

The Art Deco Warner theatre in Morgantown, WV is still for sale. It is a college town with a very active downtown area.
