But cameras don’t matter if nobody is watching them. All cameras would provide in a situation like Aurora is the ability to go back and have footage for the news of the gunman walking out, in, out, and being apprehended. It wouldn’t have stopped anything.
I never ventured inside, but I imagine this theatre was similar to the UA Tanforan 4 in San Bruno, CA. Had the same sort of box office entrance with the giant color coded 1-2-3-4 next to the poster frames.
Does this mean we’ll get at least one year where the media stops saying that tv, cable, internet and pirated movies are going to end the movie going world as we know it?!
Naw. Regal has enough of a presence in the area to negate that. Though the Rave is usually the highest grossing theatre in Vegas, Regal has a number of strong competitors against existing Century locations.
From what I hear, this and a few other locations will NOT go to Cinemark. They were once branded as “Rave Digital Media” theatres on their website, so likely as another company. So unless there’s another announcement I think this and a few others won’t be Cinemark.

Judging by the grand opening ads for screens four and five, it looks like it was a separate out building that was not actually attached to the other three. Can anybody confirm?
Carmike’s presentation has actually been decent since they went all digital. And Carmike seems to be making an effort to update what I’m sure they consider to be their profitable properties. When I was in PA recently I was surprised to see some recently remodelled buildings.
I’m pretty sure that whatever project they’re planning, it would be smart to include a theatre as an anchor.
The theatre building was torn down in late 2012. There will be a health club taking its place.
If I’m not mistaken, this theatre opened as a discount theatre.

I know of many many many supermarkets that became a theatre. Was probably more common before stadium seating though.
The six was in the mall. The 4 was next door and is listed on this site as the Gator Cinemas.

I’m sure they had to have been off limits. That part of town has always been rowdy so I imagine during drive-in business the rowdiness just got worse.
The sixth screen at this location as been rebuilt and is currently up and running. Should now be the Las Vegas 6 Drive-In.

These theatres closed on 10/26/2012 so that a new 13-screen Carmike could be constructed at the mall.
