I have been a Regal Crown Club member since 2004 but this new policy of Regal is ridiculous. Not having the box office open and having people go to the concession lines is not acceptable. If you want conessions the lines are 30-45 minutes long.

Why does the grand opening ad say Century Theaters?

My aunt and uncle lived across the street. I think it is now a Walgreens. Loved White Tower too

Thanks Steve. I knew Netflix bought the theater it just seemed so beautiful before that I didn’t understand why they gutted it. m00
se1111 it didn’t answer the question in my mind as to why

I was lucky Howard I got to see Divine Madness at the Criterion in 70MM before it was twinned and several films, 70mm, scope and flat at the Rivoli before it was twinned. The State and Warner were already twinned. I have many fond memories in the Astor Plaza and Ziegfeld too

Love that this is being kept intact and draws a crowd. Would love to see pics when the curtain is open. Do they still have masking?

Do they still have that ridiculous food service charge> Why would i pay for a food surcharge and a ticket. Now if they give you something at the concession for the $7.00 that’s a different story. Mark P The Amboy multiplex was a drive in in the 70’s

vindanpar We spent summers in AC from 67-78. They played the Dirty Dozen all summer of 67. Memorial day weekend 68 they had Guess Whose Coming To Dinner and a few weeks later opened The Odd Couple which played all summer. They also installed a new screen between 67 and 68 summers. The 1.85 ratio for Guess Whose Coming To Dinner was much more of a square block than The Dirty Dozen was. Scope for The Odd Couple was great. The next few years the theater went down hill big time. They closed in mid August with Last Tango In Paris which was roadshow. Frank Theater chain choose not to renew the lease. The following year Charlie Tannenbaum purchased and renamed it the Apollo Burlesque after he closed the Capitol.LTIP moved to the Margate non roadshow

The preview in the coming attractions for In Harms Way was done in scope which was unheard of in the 60’s

I know I had this conversation way back on here but I am positive that when I saw Man Of La Mancha here (my first time at the theater) the curved Cinerama screen was still in place on the stage. When I went back in 1975 for a revival of GWTW, the flat screen was installed. I know historians say the screen was removed when SamEric theaters took over with Fiddler, but I am positive it was after Man Of La Mancha. Anyone else out there remember this? Had we had cell phones than I would have had pictures to show.

Thanks bigjoe59. I could not remember if TMMITFM was roadshow there. I know it was in NYC at the DeMille. It’s funny because I remember that next door the Arcadia had What’s New Pussycat.

It’s unbelievable that this theater was open less than 3 years. Is it still intact as a theater.
