Check this out, The late and great Gerald Shaw at the Ritz / ABC Ipswich.
He was one of the last if not the last proffesional cinema organists in the world (Last base theatre, Odeon Leicester Square.
He had been in the buisness a long time [he opened the copton organ of the regal cinema St Leonards Nr Hastings
in the south east of england back in 1932 for example.
Enjoy the clip and his commentary.
This cinema must be ‘dark’ as the Rossiya hotel (WORLDS LARGEST HOTEL 1967-1990)closed its doors on the 1st of January 2007.
It would be great to see some photos of it though.

Unfortunatly no picture of the original auditorium which I would love to see.
It would be great If the site could have a feature where one could research the cinema by period. ie date opened [re-builds and major re moddeling could also be added]
Also in the 'search theatre'section could you put 'location’ instead of city because cinemas are also found in towns, villages and suburbs etc. best wishes.
There seems to be a campaign to save the ritz.since the summer of 2008
