opening night 1976,A STAR IS BORN was on COLUMBIA TWO SIDE, but did not open a few days later on CHRISTMAS. I wish both features had been on here…
inter office,i worked for jerry tinney in augusta,ga,city manager there,thought this was some neat history..
yep, I noticed they are really improving the old theatre..looks nice from the road…
neat story,i was at GCC we had union guys and they were great…
I don’t see how it stays open, maybe a bargin cinema in the future marsman57..
the penthouse cinema built where the balcony was made this downtown theatre a bit more special..
talking with faye mcnair and she managed for 25 years,said one night TV STAR and singer ANDY WILLIAMS attended a movie….word got out and the lobby was full of fans when he came out after that show..

theatre completely gone,i guess about four months ago…2018..
yep, dansdrivein theatre.they were at one time a Walmart sits there now.
nice write up,pity the locals have no pictures,,
digital stinks,beautiful location..
sad, not a bad place, close to the interstate,concession and rest rooms really run down.
great times, but boy we had small screens..
