There was another Scott Theatre that was open from the late 1940’s. It was located at 609 N. Grant Street, Odessa, TX and had a seating capacity of 909.

The author Billy Holcomb has a book available about the theaters of Odessa, TX. The CoC might have copies.

I believe the Scott 1-2-3 can be glimpsed briefly in the film version of ‘Friday Night Lights’.

Picture of the Scott sign taken 2/28/08.

I was driving through and it is quite a striking sight.

Not a nice looking theatre that yells “this is a showplace"could be an insurance office.

What is happening with the Scott Theater? If it up for sale or is the city of Odessa going to demolish it for the convention center they want to build downtown?
