Towne Theatre, American Fork, UT.

Viewing: Photo | Street View

The Towne Theatre originally opened in the 1950s by John Miller, who also operated movie houses in Heber, Lehi, and Pleasant Grove. At some later date, the theater was twinned, and currently seats a total of 583 in both auditoriums. The Towne today screens family-friendly fare on both screens, at the unbelievably lost cost of $1.50.

This is truly a family operation and is a refreshing change from the corporate mega-plex world. Not a movie “palace”,but definitely an old time experience. The fact that it is so family friendly and inexpensive is great for those big Mormon families. The Deseret News had a great article a few months ago on this operation.I believe the article can be located on the utahtheaters.info site

Should have an AKA Coral Theatre. Was known as the Coral Theatre from 1955 thru 1980.
