The Royal Theatre was open in 1918 and was located next to Christensen’s on State Street. Seating was listed at 500.

During the Great Depression, movies at the Royal Theatre cost 10 cents. Ocassionally the Royal Theatre and the Cozy Theatre would give away tickets to keep up peoples' spirits.

The Royal Theatre closed in 1972.
