The Northstar was the first theater to be built outside the mile square. The theater was owned by Mr. Anzi Zaring who owned the Zaring Egyptian also. The Northstar was the meeting place for the people on the North Side. The little 400 seat theatre was jammed every night. Mr. Zaring put chairs out for people who wanted to sit and wait for the next show. It got to be where the patrons would leave the theatre and then use the chairs to sit and visit with one another. The Northstar had the only known fotoplayer organ in the city. The Northstar closed in 1930 and has since been demolished.
