This Harlem movie house located on 125th Street at Lenox Avenue, was opened prior to 1915, and closed around 1952.

The Orient Theatre is listed in editions of Film Daily Yearbook’s from at least 1926 through to 1950, maybe a few more years beyond?.
The seating capacity is given as 600 in the early years.

On 1949 photo above, Warren comments: “The marquee of the Orient Theatre can be seen at right (west of Howard’s clothing store) in this 1949 photo of Bill ("Bojangle”) Robinson’s funeral procession on 125th Street in Harlem".
Shouldn’t that photo be courtesy of the Daily News Pix not courtesy of Warren? The Daily News Pix provided the photo and there was no mention of them.

I think that has been what lost memory was doing and Warren was constantly was badgering him about it, not giving the photo link the credit. I was just curious why it was okay for one person to do this and not for the other.
I am not trying to create a situation or argument but trying to understand the element of the situation, why it is okay for one to do this and not others.
I am the one that posted the comment, not Warren, and the format was mine. I have no problem with the way Lost Memory has been posting and greatly enjoy and appreciate his efforts to share information with all of us. Let us all move forward and keep posting what pieces of information we find of interest on the subject of theater history. Thanks.
The Orient was already operating in 1915.
In 1952 part of the theatre was converted into a men’s wear and appliance store owned by Brooklyn Dodger Jackie Robinson.
Apologies for my earlier error in link (post removed). There is a 1939 video from the Romano Archives shows both the Orient (at about the 50-52 second mark and perhaps the Embassy 1 at the 17 second mark). Great video quality, too.
