The Gay Theatre is listed in editions of Film Daily Yearbook from at least 1941 thru 1950 and beyond.

There is one listed in 1934 edition with 250 seats.

Al, the seating is listed at 250 in the FDYs until 1950 when it has increased to 339.

This website mentions the Gay Theater and also has a photo of an old ticket for the Gay Theater. Its about halfway down the page.
