Opened in 1919 as a vaudeville theater, the Wilson Theatre later began showing movies. It ended its days as a movie house showing adult films. In the late-1980’s, it reopened as a performing arts center, the Wilson Theatre for the Arts, today known as the Edna Boykin Cultural Center.
