The Texan appears in the 1941, 1949, and 1951 Film Daily Yearbooks as one of two large independent theatres operating then in downtown Wichita Falls (the other is the Isis). It may have opened to cater to the greatly expanded population of Sheppard Air Force Base nearby.

Is this theatre still standing? My husband was stationed at Shepard AFB.
