The Strand was the larger of two theatres in the 800 block of Scott Avenue facing SE. It was part of the Paramount-affiliated Interstate Circuit, along with the Gem, Majestic, State, Tower, and Wichita.

A Reuter theater organ opus 113 size 2/9 was installed in the Strand Theater in 1924. In 1926 the organ was upgraded to an opus 176 size 2/10. Note: $1,350.00 Additions: New 2-manual console and tibia , 73 pipes , 6" wind; replace string pipes 17-73.

The Strand was not an Interstate theater. It was Trans Texas. It was an art house in 1969 when I saw Darling and Belle du Jour during the summer.
