The Strand was the larger of two theatres in the 800 block of Scott Avenue facing SE. It was part of the Paramount-affiliated Interstate Circuit, along with the Gem, Majestic, State, Tower, and Wichita.

The Strand was not an Interstate theater. It was Trans Texas. It was an art house in 1969 when I saw Darling and Belle du Jour during the summer.
