Cine Sala X

Located in central Barcelona, near the University of Barcelona and Rambla de Catalunya, the Cine Roma was designed by architect Raul Cilento. It opened on 14th July 1976 with with the Argentian film “La Raulito” and had 450 seats. It had a reputation of playing second-rate films but occasionallly films of note such as “La Strada” and “Roma” were screened.

On 19th July 1984 it began to screen adult movies, the first being “Porn Schoolgirl”. It was part of the Sala X chain of Spanish sex cinemas. The Cine Sala X closed around 2004 and in 2008 was being re-developed.
