Part of the outdoor Kendale Shopping Center, this twin cinema opened in 1972, and held on until sometime in 2007 when it was closed by Carmike Cinemas. The one time I saw a film there – Aliens, in the summer of 1986 – it was operating as a first-run, but, sometime later, it became a discount theater.

It was reopened in March 2008 as the Cinema Latino and is the only Spanish language cinema in the state of North Carolina.
