Located in the city centre, the building was originally a garage and motor repair depot. It was converted into the Showroom Cinema, opening on 27th March 1998 as a twin screen cinema that seated 83 and 110. Two additional screens were opened on the lower level on 27th March 1998 and they seat 178 and 240. Additional facilities at the Showroom Cinema are a licenced bar and a cafe.
