Listed in the early-1940’s as Shea’s Rossevelt Theater, with a seating capacity of 402. I have fond memories of this old theater located in Brooklyn Square in Jamestown NY. As a child in the 1940’s, I loved attending matinee shows that always included a cliff-hanger serial. I can remember also the large movie posters in the lobby…and aaahhh that wonderful and unique smell of old theater popcorn. Don’t know when the theater was closed but I think it was some time in the 1950’s. It was demolished in the 1970’s

The 1935 Film Daily lists a Roosevelt Theater in Jamestown, NY with 402 seats. A Link theater organ was installed in a Roosevelt Theater in Jamestown, NY in 1925.
