Located in the southeast London district of Deptford. Built in 1851/1852 as the Deptford Mechanics' and Literary Institution. It was later taken over by the adjacent Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, which stood on its left-hand side, and was re-named St. Mary’s Hall. By 1908, the hall was not in use, and it opened as the Electric Theatre on 24th September 1908, operated by Electric Theatres (1908) Ltd.

The Electric Theatre closed in the Autumn of 1916. It remained empty until 1921, when it became the Lucania Temperance Billiard Hall which operated for many years. The building suffered some bomb damage during World War II and were eventually demolished. Two shop units, with flats above were built on the site.
