Opened in 1947 with seating provided on a stadium plan, with a raised section at the rear. This theater showed mainly British films from its opening until the 1960’s.
Owned by United Theatres (Famous Players), the Avenue Theatre was closed and demolished to make way for a supermarket in 1983.
