The Court Electric Theatre opened in October 1911. It had a Classical style facade, with a central pediment. Seating was provided on a single floor.
In later years, the Court Cinema was screening sex films and was closed by the authorities in March 1928 after it screened a controversial film which had not been passed by the British Board of Film Censors (although it had been passed by the London County Council).
The Court Cinema was demolished and the new Dominion Theatre was built on an enlarged site, opening in July 1930. The foyer of the Dominion Theatre is where the Court Cinema was located.
