This ozoner opened as the Midway Drive-In in the mid-1950’s with a 500 car capacity. It was later renamed the Cinema 40 Drive-In. The drive-in closed sometime in the mid-1980’s.

There are pictures of the remains of this drive-in on its page at on February 20, 2011 at 12:52 pm

This was one of Harry Mohney’s porno drive-ins at the end of it’s run. The address listed here is incorrect. It was located at the southwest corner of 40 and 231, south of Greencastle.

Approx. location for this drive-in was behind what is now the Sheriff’s Office! At about 112 Keightly Road.

Correction: The entrance would have been at the gas station at 1148 S Bloomington St, Greencastle, IN 46135.

Please update.

The address is considerably off. According to the ad in the paper seen in the photo section, the Cinema 40 Drive-In was located at the junction of US 40 and HWY 231. Which, as the ad indicates, is roughly 30 minutes from the town of Greencastle.

Today, the address (at least according to Google) is 5201 North Main Street, Cloverdale, IN 46120 which sits to the west of South Putnam High School. The entrance/exit road and foundation for the projector booth/concession stand still exists. However, there is very little evidence of the drive-in remaining.
