The 750 car Shadeland Drive-In was opened on June 16, 1950 with Robert Preston in “The Sundowners”. It was owned by Cantor Theatres during the 1960’s followed by Priority Theatres who operated it until its closing on September 4, 1986 with John Candy in “Armed and Dangerous”, Bette Midler in “Ruthless People” & Dennis Hopper in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2”.
The Shadeland Drive-In was demolished for a car dealership.
