Thisd theatre opened in the erarly 1960’s as a single screen by Stewart & Everett and was later twinned, by the early 1980’s it became a 4 screen, it was taken over by Carmike in 1986 and by the late 1980’s it was a seven screen. Still in operation today as the Caqrmike 7. Froma an aerial view you can still see the originasl auditorium. It was not demolished but added onto. It is open and the name should be Carmike 7. The header on this needds to be updated and the name changed to Carmike 7 with an AKA Rock Hill Cinema, Cinema 4 with the address given on 11/19/10
There was a separate Cinema that Stewart & Everett ran before opening this theatre. There are some instances in the Rock Hill Herald where both theatre are operating at the same time. I think this opened as a 4-screen.
Stewart & Everett had three theaters in Rock Hill. The Pix, The Cinema and The Cinema 4. This theater opened as the Cinema 4 in the late 70’s or early 80’s.
