Capitol Theatre

The Capitol Theatre was open in the early-1930’s and was the oldest theatre in Rock Hill. The theatre seated 360. This theatre was just a large box like building with no frills and no concessions. The screen resembled a sheet hanging from the back wall. The chairs were straight back oak with no padding at all.

The Capitol Theatre closed in 1950. The building is now used for offices.

Any further information on the Capitol Theatre would be appreciated.

Listings in the paper stopped in 1953 as the drive-ins became popular.
